About Shas Mentors

Real Understanding. Personal Guidance. Lasting Mastery.

We believe that learning Gemara should go beyond listening to a shiur. Every learner should have the opportunity to understand, explain and truly master what they have learnt.

The Role of a Shas Mentor

Think of a Shas Mentor as a personal learning coach.

Their role is not simply to repeat the shiur. It is to sit with the learner, encourage them to engage actively with the Gemara, and help them develop confidence in their own understanding.

Through personalised review sessions, the learner is encouraged to read the Gemara, translate it, paraphrase it in their own words, and crystallise the key ideas.

Why Personal Mentorship Matters

A shiur can introduce a new sugya, but genuine mastery comes through active engagement and review. A Shas Mentor provides the encouragement, structure and individual attention needed to turn that learning into lasting understanding.

Learning That Fits Real Life

Our mentors meet learners over Zoom, making it possible to arrange review sessions around work, family and other commitments.

This flexibility allows busy balabatim to maintain a consistent learning routine without sacrificing the personal interaction that makes mentorship valuable.

The weekly rhythm
